CTB Christmas 2018

Carol Singing at Eastgate

Here’s what Paul William’s (Salvation Army) write up for the Eastgate centre and see  photo (courtesy of George Watts – Manor Mission) attached.

“On Sunday 9 December, members of Churches Together in Basildon (CTB) joined together to sing Christmas carols in the Eastgate Centre. It was good, amidst the hustle and bustle of the shopping centre, to share the Christmas message that God has become one of us in the person of Jesus. The Salvation Army, who provided a brass band, raised £249.03 towards its Christmas efforts which included food hampers, presents for children and a meal on Christmas Day for those who would otherwise have nowhere to go. The Salvation Army thanks the customers of the Eastgate Centre for their generosity and all member churches of CTB wish all shoppers a blessed Christmas.”

The Carol Singing at Hesten Lodge Day Centre for adults with learning disabilities, Benfleet went well and the contact there said:

“Thanks for visiting us and giving us a great time, God bless you, we loved it xx”

Carol singing also took olace round the wards at Basildon Hospital.
